Mat Watson’s deal of the day: lease this dinky hatchback from £270 per month
May 07, 2025 by Mat Watson

Car changing is a big deal
If maximising on style is important to you, it’s hard to go wrong with this quintessentially British car.
If you prioritise fun over practicality then this little hatchback may be one for you…
Indeed, the Mini Cooper Electric is a small but upmarket electric car that’s easy to drive around town and good fun on a twisty road. Sure, it’s not particularly practical and it’s not the most comfortable small car, but it’s sure to put a smile on your face in a way most alternatives simply can’t.
This car looks sharp with a cleaner design, while the Sport trim adds bold touches like a rear spoiler and larger alloys for extra presence. Inside, it’s just as stylish with a circular infotainment screen and fabric-trimmed surfaces – though the door fabric can feel coarse on bare arms. The screen itself has crisp graphics but is a bit slow to respond, and smartphone mirroring doesn’t fully utilise the display.
Mini Cooper Electric deals: lease one from £270 per month*
You can lease a Mini Cooper Electric from as little as £269.64 per month, with an initial payment of £2,426.76, through Á«»¨Ö±²¥. This deal can be found on the E Classic model. With this, you get dual-zone climate control, interior ambient lighting, adaptive cruise control, and a smart circular infotainment display with sat-nav and smartphone connectivity.

There are three trims, each with a choice of two battery and motor options. The E has less power and a smaller range of up to 188 miles officially, while SE models get more power as well as bigger battery that increases range to up to 249 miles. That’s a bit more than a Fiat 500 Electric and a bit less than a Peugeot e-208, though top-spec MG4s cost less than a fully loaded Mini and can go up to 323 miles.

Mini Cooper Electric alternatives
Here are some other small electric cars to consider:
Fiat 500e: Cool and practical cabin up front but the rear seats are cramped.
Peugeot e-208: Quite expensive for a small EV but has reasonably fast charging.
Renault 5 E-Tech: Fantastic styling inside and out but quite cramped inside.
