The Mini is one of the most desirable small cars on the market, and the new 5 Door version is available now for an added dose of practicality.
This alternative to the Audi A1 is available to order now with prices starting from 拢24,050, and there鈥檚 a spicy Cooper S version with over 200hp.
New Mini Cooper 5 Door price and release date
The new Mini Cooper 5 Door is available to order now, and deliveries will start in August.
Prices start from 拢24,050 for the Cooper C, making it around 拢1,200 more expensive than an Audi A1 and a few hundred pounds more than the outgoing model. If you fancy the warmed-up Cooper S with its more powerful engine, you鈥檒l have to part with 拢28,450.
New Mini Cooper 5 Door design
There are no surprises when it comes to the Mini Cooper 5 Door鈥檚 design, because it鈥檚 basically just a bit longer than the 3 Door car.
This means you get the same retro-futuristic look, with the iconic circular headlights and chunky stance making it easily identifiable as a Mini. You get 17-inch wheels as standard, with two 18-inch options also available.
The funky-looking pixel taillights have a Union Jack motif, something which has been carried over from the previous Mini. There鈥檚 also a Sport model on offer for those who want a more aggressive look.
New Mini Cooper 5 Door interior and infotainment
The Mini Cooper 5 Door has pretty much exactly the same dashboard design as the standard 3-door car, which is no bad thing. It鈥檚 a really cool interior layout with loads of funky-looking fabrics, and the massive circular touchscreen is a staple of the Mini range.
The reason you鈥檒l be buying the 5 Door Mini Cooper will be for the added practicality, and it鈥檚 172mm longer than the 3-door Mini. This makes for extra rear legroom, however the boot is unlikely to be much bigger.
New Mini Cooper 5 Door engines
The new Mini Cooper 5 Door is launching with a choice of two petrol engines, both front-wheel drive and both with an automatic gearbox.
The Cooper C has 156hp and will do 0-60mph in 8.0 seconds, while the Cooper S has a more healthy 204hp and completes the 0-60mph sprint in 6.8 seconds.
