Want a luxury SUV at a great price? It’s possible as a used car – we’ll tell you how you can get the BMW X5 for less than £33,000.
It’s fantastic to drive, comfortable to sit in and extremely practical, making it one of the best premium SUVs you can buy. We’re talking about the BMW X5!
We’ll get into what makes this car so good in a moment. First though, I want to talk about one of the cons of this car: the cost. The BMW X5 is quite expensive, with a starting price of around £73,450. You can save an average of £8,400 through Á«»¨Ö±²¥ on a new one, but there’s another way to drive this brilliant car for much less.
A quick look at used BMW X5s on Á«»¨Ö±²¥ revealed several examples for under £33,000. One that particularly caught my eye was a 2019 X5 xDrive45d with the M Sport package. It features a 3.0-litre engine with an electric range of around 45 miles. It has 58,127 miles on the clock and 256 bhp.
A new X5 costs over £65,000 even through Á«»¨Ö±²¥. So you’re saving around £35,000 by buying an X5 that’s a few years old.
Why should you buy a BMW X5?
First of all, it’s brilliant to drive . For an SUV of this size, you wouldn’t expect it to be this much fun on a country road – but it’s also a truly comfortable cruiser on the motorway.
Then there’s the interior. It’s beautifully crafted and equipped with high-quality materials, making it feel more premium than a Volkswagen Touareg or Mercedes GLE. It also offers plenty of rear seat space and a large trunk, making it a great family car.
No car is truly perfect, but the X5 comes pretty close. If you opt for the larger alloy wheels, it can feel a bit harsh over bumps, so try and find a car with smaller rims. I find it a bit inappropriate that lumbar support is an optional extra on such an expensive car, so make sure yours is equipped with it.
But these are only minor criticisms of a very good SUV.
