The Maxus eDeliver 3 is a compact electric van that’s bigger than a small van but with dimensions a little below a standard mid-sized van. However, because it’s been designed as electric-only (there’s no diesel, hybrid or petrol option), Maxus has used lightweight materials to maximise range and load capacity that rivals bigger and more expensive vans.
Key highlights
The Maxus eDeliver 3 offers a payload of up to 945kg, which is impressive for a van with its compact dimensions. It’s still big enough to fit two Euro-pallets in the rear, with a total of 4.8m3 capacity. Currently, only the standard wheelbase is on sale in the UK, with an extended version (with bigger payload) likely to follow soon. It’s a two-seater only, with no passenger bench option, so is better suited to sole traders than those with a crew, while the interior delivers the basics, such as a good touchscreen, smartphone connectivity and air con.
Performance and range
The Maxus eDeliver 3 is available with two battery options – a 35kWh and 50.23kWh. The smaller of the two will easily do 99 miles while you’ll get 151 miles from the larger option. That said, both will easily beat these ranges if you’re only driving at low speeds in town. The lightweight body also means the eDeliver 3 feels nimble around city streets, which is perfect for last mile deliveries.

As the eDeliver 3 straddles both small and medium-sized vans, it has a raft of rivals. If you don’t need the added practicality, then small vans such as the Citroen e-Berlingo and Toyota Proace City Electric are worth considering. If you need a little extra room, then we’d recommend the Fiat E-Scudo or Peugeot e-Expert.
