The Renault Scenic has gone all-electric for the first time, and it’s also been transformed from a dowdy MPV to a stylish SUV. It’s the second model from the French brand’s new era of electric cars, following in the footsteps of the popular and moving the game on from the pioneering .
The Scenic may have changed a lot, but it still aims to offer the affordability and family-focused appeal that the model name has been known for since the 1990s.

The new Scenic E-Tech immediately stands out with its striking design, with bold details and a chunky stance giving Renault’s largest EV plenty of presence.
Arguably, though, the biggest highlights of the Scenic E-Tech are to be found inside, with a mixture of impressive new technology and innovative practicality solutions. That means a large central touchscreen with phone-inspired Android software and built-in Google Maps, plus new features such as a digital rear view mirror and a clever panoramic glass roof that can switch from see-through to opaque at the touch of a button.
Family-friendly touches include a large amount of interior space and a 545-litre boot, along with a clever fold-down rear armrest with USB sockets, storage trays, cupholders and pivoting brackets that hold smartphones or tablets in the perfect position for kids to watch videos. Plus, nearly 80% of the cabin materials are recyclable.
Renault Scenic E-Tech performance and range
The Scenic E-Tech has a large 87kWh battery pack offering an impressive range of up to 379 miles on a charge. That makes this one of the longest-range family cars on sale, while it also charges up quickly too.
In terms of performance, 217bhp insures a 0-62mph time of 7.9 seconds, which is plenty for a car designed to be loaded up with kids and luggage.
