The Peugeot e-Boxer is a fully-electric version of a large van that has been on sale in various guises since 2006. Rather than being a factory-built effort, the e-Boxer is a third-party conversion by UK-based electrification specialists BEDEO. As such, there are a few idiosyncratic finishes to some elements of the van’s cabin that you wouldn’t see in some of Peugeot’s smaller vans.
Key highlights
The e-Boxer can be bought or leased in three lengths - labelled L2, L3 and L4 - and just one roof height. The cab is functional and practical enough, although the design does reveal its age in some places. A five-inch touchscreen with low-resolution graphics feels a bit piddly when compared to the multiscreen universe of other rivals. Further, there are no paddles to control the level of regenerative braking, no eco modes to maximise range, just three buttons: D for Drive, N for neutral and R for reverse. Simple but effective.
Performance and range
The e-Boxer L2 model only comes as a panel van and is available with a 37kWh battery, while all other versions are fitted with a larger 75kWh battery pack. The e-Boxers with the bigger 75kWh battery offer 154 miles of range per charge, while the L2 panel van covers 73 miles. The maximum 50kW charging rate isn’t as impressive as other rivals in this segment, but it means a 0-80% juice-up can be achieved within an hour.

鈥檚 e-Boxer has 153 miles of range on a single charge according to WLTP tests, which equates to around 130 miles as a real-world estimate. It鈥檚 best to be aware that these are only general estimates, though, and the range you鈥檒l get on a daily basis will depend on a range of factors such as the payload of the van, your driving style, the weather and more.
The e-Boxer isn鈥檛 the quickest van to charge, but it can still be replenished to 80% capacity in around an hour with a 50kW DC charger. When you鈥檙e out and about on UK roads, use our handy Electric Highway map to find the closest GRIDSERVE charger to your location.
The exact dimensions of the Peugeot e-Boxer will depend on whether it鈥檚 the L2, L3 or L4 edition. They all have the same height (2,522 mm) and width (2,050 mm), but with different lengths. The L2 is the shortest at 5,413 mm, followed by the L3 at 5,998 mm, then the L4 at 6,363 mm.
