Never heard of the MINI Aceman? That’s because it’s an all-new model, and the first from the iconic MINI brand to be designed solely as an electric car.
The Aceman is a funky new EV to lease that sits between the ultra-compact MINI Cooper three-door hatch and the larger MINI Countryman SUV. That means it’s small and easy to drive about town, but also offers space for a new family and good range on a charge.
The bold Aceman follow’s MINI’s new ‘charismatic simplicity’ design approach, combining smooth surfacing with angular shapes and 4x4-like details such as roof rails, body cladding and skid plates. A variety of bold colours and trim options let you customise your favourite design.
Despite being smaller than most SUVs the Aceman offers ample space for passengers, while the interior features vibrant colour options and sustainable materials such as knitted fabric and MINI’s vegan-friendly leather alternative, Vescin.
The MINI Aceman borrows technology from the brand’s latest models including a clever new circular OLED touchscreen packed full of features, as well as standard safety tech such as blind-spot detection and cross-traffic alert.
The SE model adds features like a head-up display, heated front seats and customisable light signatures front and rear, while Classic, Exclusive and Sport variants of each model bring different styling upgrades and equipment options.
MINI Aceman performance and range
There are two versions of the MINI Aceman available for personal or business leasing, with different battery sizes and power outputs.
The Aceman E features a 181bhp electric motor, which gives a nippy 0-62mph time of 7.9 seconds. Its 42.5kWh battery pack allows a range of up to 192 miles in the official combined test.
Upgrading to the Aceman SE brings a more powerful electric motor putting out 215bhp, bringing the 0-62mph time down to 7.1 seconds. It also gets a bigger battery, with a 54kWh capacity allowing a range of up to 252 miles officially. That’s great for demanding family life and longer trips at the weekend.
When you do need to charge the MINI Aceman, the E model will accept rapid charging at up to 75kW and the SE will manage up to 90kW. Using a suitable High Power charger, such as those on the , that means a 10-80% charge is possible in under 30 minutes on both variants.
