The Alfa Romeo Junior is the legendary Italian brand’s first EV, a strikingly designed, technology-packed new electric small SUV. Designed to be as enjoyable to drive as it is to look at, the compact model offers a smart interior and a good range on a charge at an affordable leasing cost.
Key highlights of the Alfa Romeo Junior
Alfa Romeo has built a reputation for cars with dramatic styling, inviting interiors and exciting engines. It’s transferring that knowhow to its first electric model with the striking new Junior.
Now available to lease, the Junior Elettrica is a compact electric SUV with attitude. Its head-turning design helps it stand out, while engineering from the wider Stellantis group means it has substance to back up the style.
The driver-focused interior echoes the brand’s sporting prowess, but this is no old-school cabin because it features the very latest technology including a pair of 10.25-inch digital screens, gesture control and Chat GPT functionality.
The Alfa Romeo Junior’s small exterior size means it’s a doddle to drive around town, but a focus on engineering a sporting drive will also make it appeal to those who enjoy driving further afield. Despite the compact dimensions the Junior delivers practicality in the form of a 400-litre boot and a cable storage area in the front.
Alfa Romeo Junior performance and range
The base version of the Junior Elettrica features a 156bhp electric motor powering the front wheels. That’s sufficient for 0-62mph in nine seconds, making it nippy on the open road.
If you want more potent performance you’ll want the Junior Veloce. This has a 237bhp electric motor, bringing the 0-62mph time down to a brisk 6.5 seconds and giving a top speed of 124mph.
Both versions come fitted with a 54kWh battery pack allowing a range of up to 255 miles in official testing - plenty for commutes, urban driving or longer motorway journeys.
When you do need to charge the Alfa Romeo Junior, it will accept up to 100kW using a suitable High Power charger, such as those on the . That’s sufficient for a 10-80% charge in just 27 minutes.
