The Iveco eDaily is a large electric van from a brand long known for producing durable and long-lasting vehicles. Its high towing capacity and modular battery set-up makes it unique in its field, while there’s also a vast range of body sizes and payloads available.
Key highlights
The Iveco eDaily is, as the name suggests, the first electric-powered version of the Daily large van. Having been on sale since 1978, the Daily has made a name for itself as a great business workhorse, and the latest generation is the last body-on-frame large van on sale.
Why does that matter? Well, it makes the Daily exceptionally strong and great for heavy payloads, with a gross vehicle weight (GVW) rating of up to 7.2 tonnes - that’s closer to small trucks than rival vans. The eDaily is also the only large van rated to tow 3.5 tonnes.
There’s a huge range of Iveco eDaily variants, including panel vans, crew cabs, chassis cabs and minibuses. What’s more, the eDaily’s other unique selling point is its modular battery pack: the dealer can install extra batteries to increase the range whenever you need it.
Performance and range
The Iveco eDaily’s range depends on how many batteries are installed, and the size of the version you go for.
The 37kWh single battery in a 4.25-tonne eDaily manages 68 miles in official tests with a full payload, but that doubles to 124 miles with the two battery 74kWh model. The three battery 114kWh model promises up to 186 miles on a charge with a full payload. Those figures will all increase with less payload on board.
Single battery eDailys can only charge via AC, but if you opt for a two or three battery model you can charge at up to 80kW DC - enough to add 62 miles of range in half an hour.
