Get this posh hatchback used for less than £11,000

Car changing is a big deal
This hatchback is posh, comfortable, and roomier than you expect. Good news is that you can find used models on Á«»¨Ö±²¥ for under £11,000.
This small hatchback is comfortable and has a bit more pedigree than its alternatives. And while other small hatchbacks are more fun to drive, this is the one you’d rather be seen in.
Indeed, the Volkswagen Polo is a smart looking thing which gives off this illusion of being small. Though when you sit inside, it feels anything but small. It’s more spacious than a lot of cars this size, with a wide dashboard and a glossy trim that wraps around onto the door cards.

Material inside quality is high, with loads of soft-touch plastics and only a few scratchier surfaces lower down in the cabin. Though unfortunately it’s a little gloomy inside, as the only colours you can choose from are black and dark grey.
Here are more pros and cons on the car from our reviews team:
What’s good | What’s not good |
---|---|
Slick cabin feels posh | Not as fun as some alternatives |
Very comfortable on the road | Entry-level petrol engine lacks punch |
Plenty of boot space | Useful options can be expensive |

Volkswagen Polo used and lease offers
A new Volkswagen Polo has a starting price of £21,470. But through Á«»¨Ö±²¥, you can get one used from under £11,000, saving yourself around £10,000. For instance, you can get this 2020 Volkswagen Polo, with 34,318 miles on the clock, for £10,799.

This particular model is in a metallic dark orange and comes with ISOFix seats, cruise control, and 351 litres of boot space with the seats up. It’s also a 1 litre petrol with a manual transmission with a 51.4 average mpg.
If leasing is more your style, you can lease a new one from as little as £232 per month, with an initial payment of £2,374.54. This is for a 1 litre manual entry-level Life version. With this, you get 15-inch alloy wheels, electric front and rear windows, LED headlights, air-con and an eight-inch infotainment screen. On the safety feature front, there are standard-fit lane keep and hill start assists, a driver drowsiness monitor and autonomous emergency braking.

Volkswagen Polo alternatives
Still not convinced? Here are some other hatchbacks for you to consider:
- Seat Ibiza: Stylish design but the entry-petrol engine is noisy.
- Renault Clio: Tight rear seats but makes up for it with a massive boot.
- Skoda Fabia: Very comfortable but cabin quality isn’t the best.
