The CES technology show is underway , and Honda has unveiled two new electric cars to the crowds in Las Vegas. BMW has also been showing off its clever new infotainment system.

Modern cars are packed with tech, so it鈥檚 no wonder manufacturers are turning to the world鈥檚 biggest technology show to unveil new models and features. Honda has revealed two new electric cars; both of which look totally bonkers. BMW has also shown off its new iDrive infotainment system.

New Honda 0 Saloon and 0 SUV

Honda has pulled the covers off of two new prototype EVs at CES. They鈥檙e called the 0 Saloon and 0 SUV for now, however the official names are yet to be announced. Both of these cars look totally wild, but it鈥檚 the saloon which will turn the most heads.

It looks a bit like a Lamborghini Murcialago which has eaten another Lamborghini Murcialago, with a bubble-like side profile and squared-off rear end. No specific details have been revealed around range or power, however it will have a clever AI-based infotainment system.

New BMW Panoramic iDrive

New BMW iDrive panoramic vision display

From the end of 2025 all new BMW models will come with a brand new infotainment setup, and it鈥檚 centred around a panoramic display which wraps around the base of the windscreen. It鈥檚 not a screen though, it鈥檚 a black strip with graphics projected onto it.

A new 3D head-up display will also be available as an option, and a massive touchscreen also features on the dashboard 鈥 although that鈥檚 par for the course these days. BMW鈥檚 rotary dial controller is no more though, with all functions operated either through the screen or via voice commands.

Hyundai鈥檚 new holographic windscreen display

Hyundai Mobis 鈥 partmaker for the Korean brand, will be demonstrating a new type of holographic display which can project information across the entire width of the windscreen. It can show navigation directions, safety information and even has a feature which can alleviate motion sickness in passengers.

Xpeng AeroHT 鈥 not quite a truck and not quite a helicopter

This is the XPeng Aero HT, and XPeng calls it a 鈥渕odular flaying car鈥. However, in reality it鈥檚 just a fancy-looking van with a drone in the back. The idea is that you park up, push a button, and the car squats down and a small microlite emerges for you to go off exploring in.

XPeng plans to roll this out worldwide over the next few years, and it鈥檚 already been granted permission to fly in China. Only time will tell if it鈥檚 ever allowed to come to the UK, but it鈥檒l cost over 拢200,000 if it does. You could buy a small helicopter for that and have change for a car to get you to your helipad鈥
