Colour guide
Metallic - Ceramic
Free
Ceramic almost works on the MX-30鈥檚 shape, but only almost. To be honest, it鈥檚 a bit too close to white in some lights, and too close to silver in others which makes it sound more interesting than it is. A better option than Arctic white, but still not the best colour available.
Metallic - Polymetal grey
Free
As with the CX-30, the MX-30鈥檚 contrast wheelarches make Polymetal grey work rather nicely. There鈥檚 enough blue under the top coat to stop it looking too drab, but there are certainly more exciting (if expensive) colour options than this.

Solid - Arctic white
Free
The MX-30 is an intriguing-looking car, with a distinctive shape but Arctic white just kind of washes all that out, and it just doesn鈥檛 work very well with the MX-30鈥檚 lines. You鈥檒l need to spend extra to look good.

Metallic - Jet black

If Arctic white washes out the MX-30鈥檚 styling, then Jet black just kind of hides it under a blanket, with only the little silver badge on the rear pillar to break up the blackness. Not a great look, to be honest.
Premium metallic - Machine grey
拢670
Machine grey looks brilliant on models such as the Mazda 3 and CX-30, with their complex exterior design, but the MX-30鈥檚 somewhat slab-sides drain some of the life out of it. It鈥檚 still a good colour, but not as strong a choice here as it is elsewhere.

Three tone metallic - Ceramic white with black roof and dark grey side panels

You're used to two-tone bodywork and they can work very well, but this tri-tone option is a bit messy to our eyes. Although all the colours work well on the MX-30 individually, we're not sure it works well.

Two tone metallic - Jet black with silver side panels

Does the option of a silver roof arch lift the look of Jet black? Yes it does. Does it do enough to make it a desirable colour? Not really. Is it worth the chunky price tag? Nope.
Two tone metallic - Zircon sand with black side panels and roof
拢1,500
Zircon sand is an interesting colour, quite similar to Audi鈥檚 Tactical green (or Action beige as we like to call it). Combined with the contrast black roof and side panels, it looks pretty striking and is arguably the best colour option for the MX-30, even if it鈥檚 an expensive one.
Special two tone metallic - Soul red crystal with blackside panels and roof
拢1,800
Soul red crystal always looks at least good, but arguably it鈥檚 not the best colour for the MX-30. Something about the shape just doesn鈥檛 quite work with Soul red as well as it does when you think of other Mazda models. This is the most expensive paint option here, but it鈥檚 not the best one.
