Renault Scenic exterior dimensions

The new five-seat MPV sacrifices the third row of seats found in its largerÌýsibling theÌýGrand ScenicÌýbut, despite this, there’s no shortage of space. The VW TouranÌýis longer than the Renault by 121mm but does house an extra row of seats.

Length 4,406mm
Width including mirrors 2,128mm
Height 1,653mm
Wheelbase 2,734mm

Renualt Scenic interior dimensions and boot space

The 573-litre load bay eclipses the competing Citroen C4 Picasso by 35 litresÌýandÌýbeats the popularÌýNissan QashqaiÌýby more thanÌý100 litres. The Touran leads the class by some distance boasting a substantial 743-litre boot space with five seats up –Ìýagain as a result of its extra row of seats.

There’s comfortably enough space for four with five accommodated at a push, but the Scenic makes do with a rear bench rather thanÌýthe Touran’s individual sliding seats. As a result shoulder room isn’t as generous as the VW.

Headroom (front/rear) 918mm/869mm
Boot space (seats up) 572 litres

Renault Scenic fuel tank size and turning circle

Both the C4 Picasso and Touran houseÌýlarger fuel tanks than the Scenic’s 53-litre capacity. However, with the entry-level diesel, the Scenic returns 72mpg, making up the difference between it andÌýthe less frugal Touran. It still can’t matchÌýthe Citroen, however, which carriesÌýmore fuel on board and usesÌýless per mile.

The Scenic’s turning circle is smallerÌýthan the larger Touran’s, making it a better companion when trundling though city streets and tight car parks.

Fuel tank 52Ìýlitres
Min turning circle 11.18 metres

RenaultÌýScenicÌýSUV weight

The Scenic tips the scales at 1,430kg – 100kg lighter than the Touran. Less weight means the Scenic feels more light-footedÌýbehind the wheel. It also bodes well for overall performance, fuel consumption and the longevity of consumable parts such as tyres and brakes.

Weight 1,488kg-1,540kg
