The 7 best manufacturer warranties in 2025

September 30, 2025 by

Looking for the best car warranty? These are some of the most comprehensive manufacturer policies out there鈥

All new cars come with a warranty 鈥 a promise from the manufacturer that they鈥檒l replace any faulty parts and foot the bill for any repair work your car might need for a set number of years.

That said, not all warranties are born equal. Some manufacturers will cover your car for as long as seven years, with others even offering a boost to your warranty with each service.

Read on for the manufacturers offering the best car warranty today.

The best new car warranties in the UK are:

  1. Kia
  2. Toyota
  3. Peugeot
  4. Hyundai
  5. Suzuki
  6. Mazda
  7. Citroen

1. Kia

Kia has long led the field for manufacturer warranties. All models in the Korean brand鈥檚 range are covered by an impressive seven-year/100,000-mile warranty.

There are some exclusions though. Any 12v and 48v batteries are covered for 24 months, with the 鈥榚Call鈥 emergency system鈥檚 battery included for 36 months. Audio and navigation units are also covered for 36 months or 60,000 miles.

Paintwork is also only covered for five years, but the 100,000-mile limit still applies. Better still, the whole warranty is transferable between owners.

2. Toyota

All Toyota and Lexus models are covered by a three-year/100,000-mile warranty. Though that isn鈥檛 too much to scream home about, there is an extra sweetener.

A scheme introduced in 2021 can see that warranty boosted with each service. Toyota鈥檚 new 鈥楻elax鈥 warranty sees you given another year of coverage every time you have your car serviced at an authorised dealer.

This is valid for up to 10 years from your car鈥檚 date of manufacture and covers cars already sold by the manufacturer if you鈥檙e in the used market.

It鈥檚 also worth mentioning that Toyota鈥檚 warranty covers the GR Yaris for non-competitive track usage as long as you keep the car standard.

3. Peugeot

Peugeot currently offers a three-year warranty with unlimited mileage in the first two years. That鈥檚 not groundbreaking, however the new Peugeot E-3008 comes with something called Allure Care.

This will be rolled out across Peugeot鈥檚 range of electric cars over the coming months, and it includes up to eight years of coverage provided you keep your car serviced within its dealer network. This covers the electric motor, charging system and electrical and mechanical components. All Peugeot EVs are also covered by an eight-year high-voltage battery warranty.

4. Hyundai

Hyundai鈥檚 standard new car warranty matches KGM鈥檚 for length, but you get unlimited mileage. Electric cars also get an eight-year warranty on their high-voltage batteries.

This warranty is fully transferable between owners and includes two years鈥 brake and clutch cover and three years鈥 protection for perishable suspension components, such as rubber bushings.

5. Suzuki

On 1 May, Suzuki introduced a 10-year Service Activated Warranty for UK and Irish drivers, expanding on its previous seven-year offering. After the standard three-year/60,000-mile warranty ends, owners can extend coverage with each scheduled service at a Suzuki dealer, up to 10 years/100,000 miles.

That鈥檚 not all. Suzuki launched the e-Vitara, its first electric model, in July, which features an impressive 10-year battery warranty. This gives you two extra years of cover and surpasses the industry standard of eight years.

6. Mazda

Every new Mazda registered from 1 September now comes with a six-year manufacturer warranty. And they鈥檝e increased the mileage limit too, from 60,000 miles to 100,000 miles. All you need to do is keep up with Mazda鈥檚 regular servicing schedule (typically every 12,500 miles or once a year for most models), and you鈥檙e good to go.

What鈥檚 more, the all-electric Mazda 6e, which goes on sale in the UK next year, will have an eight-year battery warranty in addition to its standard warranty.

7. Citroen

Citroen鈥檚 鈥淲e Care鈥 warranty gives you extra peace of mind by covering the most important parts of your car 鈥 the engine, gearbox, transmission and powertrain 鈥 and applies to all cars registered from 10 January 2025. It kicks in once the standard warranty ends and can be activated each time you bring your car in for a scheduled service at a Citroen workshop.

The cover then lasts until your next service and can be renewed again and again, for up to eight years or 100,000 miles from first registration. It鈥檚 the French carmaker鈥檚 way of making sure you can drive stress-free for the long term.

Should I get an extended car warranty?

If your car is beyond the manufacturer鈥檚 original warranty period, you may be considering purchasing an extended warranty.

Whether or not it鈥檚 worth taking out will depend on your car. It may prove cheaper to save the premium it would cost for a warranty, and pay for any repairs yourself. This is likely a better option if your car is proving very reliable, or parts are cheap.

In contrast, older, more complex cars could cost a bomb to repair. You may find a warranty more affordable in this case.
Even if your car isn鈥檛 proving troublesome though, it may be worth the extra cost simply for peace of mind.

If you鈥檙e interested in taking out an extended car warranty, carwow is proud to partner with who provide comprehensive extended car warranty.
